Each sip of this single-origin specialty coffee reveals a burst of blood orange flavour, complemented by subtle notes of black tea, and finished with the rich sweetness of caramelised brown sugar. The natural processed Red Bourbon variety is handpicked and processed at the renowned Gakenke Station in Burundi, roasted in small batches at Julius Meinl’s headquarters in Vienna, Austria.

THE ORIGINALS BURUNDI GAKENKE WASHING STATION


This microlot coffee is sourced from Gakenke Station, representing over 1,700 smallholder farmers and operated by the esteemed Burundi-based company Greenco. Greenco provides agrotechnical support and runs programs to improve community socio-economic and environmental conditions, including equipping all washing stations with water treatment facilities and solar panels.

CUP PROFILE ESPRESSO


Bursting with the sweet flavors of roasted almonds and caramelised  yellow peach on the nose. As you taste it, notes of blood orange and caramelised  brown sugar will arise, leaving hints of black tea and lime in the aftertaste.

Amount of coffee: 16g

Amount of water: 35g

Temperature: 91°C

Contact time: 24-26 sec


CUP PROFILE FILTER COFFEE


Bursting with the sweetness of yellow peach and orange blossom on the nose, followed by sweet blood orange and buttery flavours on the palate, finishing with a hint of black tea in the aftertaste.
