ANNOUNCING: The Julius Meinl Barista Cup 2024

At Julius Meinl, we believe that exceptional coffee doesn't just happen by chance. It takes a combination of top-quality beans, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert craftsmanship from our baristas to create the perfect cup. That's why we're proud to announce the inaugural Julius Meinl Barista Cup, a global competition dedicated to celebrating the dedication and skill of our baristas.

The Julius Meinl Barista Cup is an opportunity for baristas from around the world who serve our coffee every day to showcase their mastery and dedication in three categories: Espresso, Cappuccino, and Signature Drink. Over 10 countries will host local competitions where baristas will have a chance to demonstrate their skills in front of expert judges.

The top-scoring barista overall from each country will win a trip to the Julius Meinl headquarters in Vienna and a chance to compete on the global stage at the Grand Finale. A representative from their outlet will also be invited to join as part of the prize.

The Grand Prize is a coffee adventure to Mexico, one of our coffee countries of origins. This trip will be awarded to the top-scoring baristas in each category at the Grand Finale.

Baristas from around the world will showcase their mastery on a global stage!

It’s more than just top-quality beans and talented baristas that go into creating the perfect coffee, which is why Julius Meinl is proud to partner with Rancilio, Fiorenzato, Cafetto and BWT for the event. Education is a big focus of the project, and it is important to us that our competing baristas can train and compete with the best tools and equipment.
